What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph tags are meta tags in a page’s head — og:title, og:description, og:image and og:url — that tell social networks and messaging apps what title, text and image to show when the page is shared.
What size should an og:image be?
Use 1200 × 630 pixels (a 1.91:1 ratio), under 5 MB, in JPEG or PNG. Keep important text away from the edges, since some apps crop the image to a square.
I fixed my tags, but Facebook still shows the old preview. Why?
Networks cache previews. Ask Facebook to re-read the page in its Sharing Debugger, use LinkedIn’s Post Inspector, or share a new URL — for example a fresh short link.
Are these previews exact?
They are close approximations of each network’s current layout. Networks change their designs and may crop or shorten text differently on each device.
