How it works
How to use the URL Expander
-
Paste the short link
Copy the short URL from a message, post or email and paste it in.
-
Expand it
We follow the link’s redirects from our server, so nothing loads on your device.
-
Check the destination
See the final address and its page title, then decide whether to open it.
How does a URL expander work?
A short link is a redirect. The expander requests it from our server and follows each redirect until it reaches a page that does not redirect, then shows you that final address.
Is it safe to expand a suspicious link?
Expanding is safer than clicking: the request comes from our server, not your device, and no page content or scripts are sent back to you — only the addresses, status codes and page title. Still, do not open a destination you do not trust.
Which link shorteners does it support?
All of them that use standard HTTP redirects, including bit.ly, TinyURL, t.co, is.gd, Letlink and branded short domains.
