Pinterest Conversions API

Send server-side click events to Pinterest Ads, with the epik click ID attached when the click came from a Pinterest ad.

The Pinterest integration sends every recorded click to your ad account server-side, as a link_click custom event. Available on Growth and Ultimate.

What you need

  • Your ad account ID.
  • A conversion token, generated in Ads Manager under Conversions.

Connect it to Letlink

  1. Open Integrations → Pinterest Conversions API. Owners and admins only.
  2. Paste the ad account ID and conversion token.
  3. Set Delivery mode to Test events only, save, and press Send test event. The event appears under Conversions → Test events.
  4. Switch Delivery mode back to Live events when you are happy. Test events never reach your reports.

What we send

One event per recorded click: event_name link_click, action_source web, a stable event_id (click-<id>), the short URL as event_source_url, and the visitor IP, user agent and click_id in user_data.

How clicks are matched to your ads

Pinterest adds epik to the URL of an ad click. When your ad points straight at a short link, Letlink reads it from the request and sends it as click_id. Pinterest allows up to 15 custom event types per advertiser, and link_click uses one of them.
