A link per recipient
Create /deck-northwind and /deck-acme for the same file, and each link’s stats page tells you whether that recipient opened it.
Shared files
Letlink gives every document you share its own short link, so you can see when it was opened, replace the file without resending, and control where and how often it can be opened.
Short answer
Document tracking tells you when and where a shared file was opened. Letlink does it with a short link in front of the file — a PDF, a Google Drive or Dropbox file, a deck, a contract — and records each open with time, country and device. The free plan covers 1,000 links and 1,000 opens a month; from Solo at $3.90 you can also allow or block countries. It tracks the link being opened, not pages viewed or reading time.
Features
Create /deck-northwind and /deck-acme for the same file, and each link’s stats page tells you whether that recipient opened it.
Point the short link at a corrected PDF or a new version of the deck. Everyone who already has the link opens the latest file, with nothing resent.
From Solo, allow a link only in the countries you list, or block some, with an optional fallback page for everyone turned away. Detection is by IP address.
Cap how many times one device can open a link per rolling hour. Over the cap, the visitor gets a short message instead of the file.
Archive a link, or give it an expiry date or a click limit, and the copy you sent no longer opens the document. A password on the link adds a check before anyone reaches it, on every plan.
Each open records country, device, operating system and browser, and unique visitors show how many distinct devices opened it.
From Solo, each open can post to Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Google Chat or Telegram.
Use cases
A separate link per fund, so you know which ones opened the deck and whether it travelled beyond the person you sent it to.
See that the counterparty opened the contract before you chase a signature, and point the link at the revised draft after each round.
One link on a slide or printed handout that you can repoint to the updated file each term.
Restrict a regional price list to the countries it applies to, and send everyone else to the right version with a fallback URL.
In Google Drive, Dropbox or wherever the file lives, create a link the recipient can open, or upload the PDF to your own site.
In the dashboard choose Create link, paste the share link and give it a short code and title per recipient.
On the link’s edit page, turn on Limit visits per device or set Country access to Allow only or Block countries (Solo and above), with an optional fallback URL.
Share the short link. Each open appears on the link’s stats page; swap the destination when the file changes, or archive the link to withdraw it.

Document tracking records when and where a shared document is opened. No. Letlink records the link being opened, not activity inside the file: there are no page views, scroll depth or reading times. It tells you when, how often, from which country and on which device the document was opened.
Yes. Edit the short link’s destination to point at the new file, and the link your recipients already have opens the new version. Letlink redirects with a temporary (302) status, so browsers do not cache the old file’s address.
Yes, from Solo at $3.90 a month. Set the link’s Country access to Allow only or Block countries and add an optional fallback URL. Detection uses the visitor’s IP address, so a VPN can get around it — use it to steer access, not as a security guarantee.
No. The short link controls who can follow the link, but once a recipient reaches the file, its own address can be copied and shared. A password on the short link keeps casual visitors out, but it is not access control on the file itself. Keep the file’s own sharing settings as tight as your storage service allows, and archive or expire the short link when you want the copy you sent to stop working.
Yes. The free plan covers 1,000 links, 1,000 tracked opens a month, 7 days of history and per-device visit limits. Solo at $3.90 a month adds country access rules, a custom domain, chat alerts and 30 days of history.
