Live clicks

Real-time link tracking on the dashboard, in chat and by webhook

Letlink records a click as it happens and can tell you three ways: on the dashboard, as a message in your team chat, and as a webhook to your own systems.

Short answer

Real-time link tracking shows clicks on a link as they happen, instead of in a report the next day. Letlink records each click at the redirect and lists it in the dashboard’s Live activity card on every plan; from Solo at $3.90 a month it posts a message per click to Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or Telegram, and from Growth at $8.90 it sends a webhook on every recorded click.

Features

Three ways to see clicks as they happen

Live activity on the dashboard

The dashboard lists the eight most recent recorded clicks with short code, browser, operating system, country and how long ago each arrived, and marks those from the last 15 minutes. Open or refresh it to see the newest.

In the mobile apps

The free Letlink apps for iPhone, iPad and Android show clicks arriving on your links, in sync with the web dashboard.

A chat message per click

Connect Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or Telegram and each recorded click posts a message with the short link and device context. From the Solo plan.

Webhooks on every click

Growth and Ultimate POST a JSON link_visited event to your HTTPS endpoints for each recorded click. Delivery is queued just after the redirect, so the visitor is never kept waiting.

Automations without code

Zapier, Make and Pipedream subscribe to the same click event on Growth, so a click can update a sheet, a CRM or a ticket. Ultimate adds n8n.

Into GA4 as it happens

From Solo each recorded click is sent to GA4 server-side as a link_click event. Check it in DebugView; GA4’s standard reports can take up to 24 hours to show it.

Use cases

When live clicks matter

Launches and drops

Watch a launch link in a #link-clicks channel and see in the first minutes whether the announcement is landing.

Sales follow-up

A Telegram or Slack alert when a proposal or pricing link is opened tells a rep the moment to follow up — with device and referrer, not the person’s name.

Live events and broadcasts

Put a QR code on stage or on screen and see scans arrive while the audience is still in the room.

Systems that react to clicks

Use webhooks to start a workflow, update a lead score or log a visit in your warehouse as soon as it is recorded.

Step by step

How to get a Slack alert for every link click

  1. Create a Slack incoming webhook

In Slack, add an Incoming Webhook to your workspace and pick a channel — a dedicated #link-clicks channel keeps busy campaigns out of the way. Copy the hooks.slack.com URL.

  2. Connect it in Letlink

Open Integrations → Slack (owners and admins), paste the URL and save. Discord, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat and Telegram work the same way from their own Integrations pages.

  3. Click a test link

Open one of your short links in a browser. A message appears with the short URL and, when present, the device, variation and referrer.

  4. Filter if it gets noisy

One recorded click is one message. To alert only on certain links, use a webhook with Zapier or n8n and filter there.

FAQ

Real-time link tracking: questions and answers

Anything else? Talk to us — or read the help center.

What is real-time link tracking?

Real-time link tracking records each click on a link as it happens and shows it straight away, rather than in a delayed report. Letlink lists recorded clicks in the dashboard’s Live activity card on every plan, posts chat alerts per click from Solo at $3.90 a month, and sends webhooks from Growth at $8.90.

Does the dashboard update by itself?

The Live activity card shows the eight most recent recorded clicks each time the dashboard loads, with how long ago each arrived and a marker on those from the last 15 minutes. Refresh it to see newer clicks, or connect a chat alert or webhook to be told without looking.

Can I get a notification every time my link is clicked?

Yes, from the Solo plan. Connect Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat or Telegram under Integrations and each recorded click posts one message with the short link and device context. Bot visits are not counted, so they do not trigger alerts.

How quickly do webhooks arrive?

Webhooks are queued as soon as the click is recorded rather than sent inline on the redirect, so the visitor is never delayed; a test request usually arrives within a few seconds. They are on Growth at $8.90 a month and Ultimate.

Why did my alerts stop?

Alerts and webhooks only fire for recorded clicks. Past your plan’s monthly tracked-click allowance — 10,000 on Solo, 100,000 on Growth — links keep redirecting but clicks are not recorded, so alerts go quiet until the next calendar month. Ultimate has no monthly cap.

Do real-time alerts tell me who clicked?

No. An alert reports what clicked — the short link, device, browser, variation and referrer — not the person. Letlink does not collect names or email addresses from visitors.
