For SaaS teams

Link shortener for SaaS products, apps and developer teams

Letlink gives a software company short links that know about devices and talk to its stack: one link that opens the right app store, links minted from your own code, and every click delivered to the tools your product team already uses.

Short answer

A link shortener for SaaS creates short links your product, emails and docs can use, routes visitors by device, and hands click data to engineering and product analytics instead of keeping it in a silo. Letlink does this on Growth at $8.90 a month: a REST API with full link CRUD and bulk creation, a webhook on every recorded click, delivery to Segment, Mixpanel, PostHog and Amplitude, 100,000 tracked clicks a month and a year of history. Ultimate at $39.90 adds the MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT and unlimited clicks.

Features

What a SaaS team gets from Letlink

One link, the right app store

The App Store URL link type sends iPhones and iPads to your App Store listing and Android phones to Google Play. The mobile platform type adds a separate desktop destination for TestFlight pages or web sign-up.

Links created from your code

The REST API at /api/v1 supports full link CRUD and bulk creation, with an API token sent as X-API-KEY or a Bearer header. Smart link types, UTM fields and custom domains are all available in the create body.

A webhook on every click

Register an HTTPS endpoint under Integrations → Webhooks and receive a link_visited JSON POST for each recorded click, with link type, UTM values, browser, device type, referrer and split-test variation.

Clicks in your analytics stack

Send each click to Segment as a Link Clicked track call, or straight to Mixpanel, PostHog (Cloud or self-hosted) or Amplitude, so short-link traffic sits next to product events.

Product and lifecycle emails

Use a UTM link per onboarding, release-note or win-back email, on your own domain, and see which message actually sent people back into the product.

Docs and changelog links

A short link in docs, in-app tips or a printed quick-start guide can be pointed at a new page when the URL changes, without re-shipping the app or reprinting.

MCP for Claude and ChatGPT

On Ultimate, connect Claude, ChatGPT or n8n to the remote MCP server and ask for a workspace summary, recent visits or a new tracked link in plain language.

Split tests behind one link

Send a launch link’s traffic across up to eight weighted landing pages, and read each page’s received share against the share you set.

Use cases

Where SaaS teams put short links

App install campaigns

One link in ads, emails and QR codes on event booths that opens the right store for each phone, with clicks counted per device type.

Referral and share links

Links minted per user or per account through the API, so each one can be traced back in your own database through webhooks.

Release announcements

Tagged links in the changelog, the newsletter and social posts, compared side by side by UTM campaign and traffic channel.

Support and onboarding

Short, stable links to help articles that support agents paste into tickets and that survive a docs migration.

Step by step

How to connect Letlink to a SaaS product

  1. Move the workspace to Growth

Open Billing and choose Growth ($8.90 a month) to unlock the REST API, webhooks and the product analytics integrations.

  2. Create an API token

As an owner or admin, generate the token on the Integrations page and store it in your secrets manager. Send it as X-API-KEY or Authorization: Bearer on requests to /api/v1.

  3. Create links from your code

POST to /api/v1/links with a destination and, for app installs, type appstore with your App Store and Google Play URLs. The response returns the short URL to store with your record.

  4. Subscribe to clicks

Add an HTTPS endpoint under Integrations → Webhooks, or connect Segment, Mixpanel, PostHog or Amplitude, and press Send test event where offered.

What is a link shortener for SaaS?

It is a URL shortener that a software company can drive from its own product: links are created by API, route visitors by device, and send click events to the company’s analytics and data tools. Letlink offers this on Growth at $8.90 a month with a REST API, webhooks and Segment, Mixpanel, PostHog and Amplitude delivery.

Can one short link open the App Store or Google Play depending on the phone?

Yes, from the Solo plan. The App Store URL link type sends iPhone and iPad visitors to your App Store listing and Android visitors to Google Play; other clients fall back to the iOS URL unless you set a desktop fallback. Detection uses the User-Agent, which is reliable but can be wrong in unusual browsers or in-app webviews.

Does the API support bulk link creation?

Yes. The REST API on Growth and Ultimate supports full link CRUD plus bulk creation, and analytics endpoints return the same summary, time series and breakdowns as the dashboard. Responses carry pagination and rate-limit headers.

What does the click webhook contain?

Each recorded click sends a link_visited JSON POST with the visit time, short code, domain, destination, link type, UTM values, store URLs, visitor IP, browser, device type, referrer and split-test variation. Delivery is queued, so it never slows the redirect, and endpoints must be HTTPS.

Can clicks go to Segment, Mixpanel, PostHog or Amplitude?

Yes, on Growth and Ultimate. Segment receives a Link Clicked track call keyed on an anonymous device ID; Mixpanel, PostHog and Amplitude receive it as an event keyed on the same device fingerprint, with browser, operating system and the link’s short code, destination, variation and UTM values. Owners and admins connect each one under Integrations.

Can Letlink tell me which user clicked?

No. Letlink records what clicked, not who: device, browser, referrer, campaign and location, plus a device hash for unique visitors. If you need to tie a click to an account, create a separate link per user through the API and match the short code in the webhook payload to your own records.
