The member, added or updated
Each approved conversion with an email adds the person to your audience with the status you chose, or updates them if they are already there. Existing members keep their status.
Mailchimp
Letlink records clicks on the short links in your campaigns and, when a click converts with an email address, adds the person to your Mailchimp audience with tags for the event and the short link, plus an event on their timeline.
Short answer
The Letlink Mailchimp integration adds the person behind each approved conversion to your Mailchimp audience, tags them with the kind of conversion and the short link that brought them, and records a custom event on their profile. It sends conversions only — a click has no email address — and new contacts are added by double opt-in unless you choose otherwise. It is on Growth at $8.90 a month and Ultimate at $39.90.
Features
Each approved conversion with an email adds the person to your audience with the status you chose, or updates them if they are already there. Existing members keep their status.
Two tags per conversion: one for the event — sale, lead, signup or your custom name — and one for the short code, so a segment of everyone who bought through spring-sale is one filter away.
A custom event such as letlink_sale is recorded on the profile with short_code, value, currency and order_id, ready to trigger a Customer Journey.
Double opt-in, the default, emails new people a confirmation and keeps them pending until they confirm. Subscribe directly is for flows that already collected consent; transactional adds them without making them marketable.
Tags and events start with letlink unless you set another prefix, so they sort together and never collide with your own tags.
Short links in a Mailchimp email are recorded click by click with time, country, device and referrer. Letlink does not see opens — only clicks on links.
Use cases
Everyone tagged with a product’s short code gets the care guide and the reorder reminder for that product, not the rest of the catalogue.
The letlink_signup timeline event starts an onboarding journey the moment a sign-up is reported.
Converters tagged by each partner’s link show which partner’s audience keeps opening your emails later.
In Mailchimp open Profile → Extras → API keys and create a key. It ends in your data centre, such as -us21.
Open Audience → All contacts → Settings → Audience name and defaults and copy the audience ID.
On Growth or Ultimate, open Integrations → Mailchimp, paste the key and audience ID, choose how new contacts are added, and save.
Include email in the letlink() call, the postback or the API. New members appear under Audience → All contacts, pending until they confirm if you kept double opt-in.

Yes. Put a Letlink short link in the campaign and each click is recorded with time, country, device and referrer, on every plan including Free. Letlink does not track email opens and does not identify which subscriber clicked; it records what clicked, not who.
Not by default. New contacts are added by double opt-in, so Mailchimp emails them a confirmation and they stay pending until they confirm. Choose Subscribe directly only if the conversion flow already collected marketing consent, or Transactional to add them without making them marketable.
Two per conversion: <prefix>-<event>, where the event is sale, lead, signup or your custom name, and <prefix>-<short code>. The prefix is letlink unless you change it. The matching timeline event is <prefix>_<event> with short_code, value, currency and order_id.
Mailchimp runs the batch in the background and does not guarantee the order of its operations, so for someone brand new the event can occasionally be skipped. The member is always created with its tags. Errors such as a previously unsubscribed address are not reported back to Letlink.
