Campaign tracking

Marketing link tracker for comparing campaigns and channels

Letlink is a marketing link tracker that gives every campaign, channel and placement its own tagged short link, reports the clicks side by side, and hands each click to the analytics and ad platforms you already report in.

Short answer

A marketing link tracker tags each campaign link with its source, medium and campaign and reports the clicks per channel, so a marketer can see which placements carried the traffic. Letlink stores UTM tags on every Link with UTM, groups referrers into Direct, Search, Social, Email & messaging and Referral sites, sends each click to GA4 from Solo at $3.90 a month, and delivers click events to Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat and Reddit from Growth at $8.90. It measures clicks, not what visitors do after the redirect.

Features

Built for campaign reporting

UTM tags on the link

Link with UTM stores source, medium and campaign on the short link and adds them to the destination when the visitor is redirected. Values are saved lowercase with spaces as underscores, so naming slips do not split a campaign in two.

Traffic channels

Every referrer is bucketed into Direct, Search, Social, Email & messaging or Referral sites, with Top sources underneath so Instagram and TikTok are told apart inside Social.

Campaigns side by side

The workspace Analytics page ranks every link and shows channels, devices, countries and click timing across all of them, so two campaigns are compared on the same terms.

Clicks in Google Analytics 4

From Solo, each recorded click is sent to GA4 through the Measurement Protocol as a link_click event with the short code, link type and variation — even when the visitor blocks scripts.

Click events for ad platforms

From Growth, clicks are delivered server-side to the Meta Conversions API, TikTok Events API, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat and Reddit, with the ad’s click ID attached when the ad points straight at the short link.

Ad click IDs passed on

gclid, fbclid, ttclid and other click IDs an ad network adds to your short link are forwarded to the destination, so the tag on your landing page can still attribute the visit.

Creative tests in one link

Split one ad link across up to eight landing pages and read each one’s real share of traffic. Give each destination its own UTM campaign to judge which one converted in your own analytics.

When your audience clicks

Hour-of-day and day-of-week charts name the busiest hour and weekday for each link, so the next send or post goes out when people actually click.

Use cases

Who tracks campaign links with Letlink

Paid social

One short link per ad set, with clicks sent to the ad platform server-side and UTM tags carried through to the landing page.

Newsletters and social posts

The same offer linked from an email and from three networks, each with its own UTM medium, so the channel report says which one moved people.

Partners and influencers

A tagged link per partner, so each partner’s clicks, countries and devices sit on their own row instead of blending into one referrer.

Print and events

A QR code on a flyer or stand, counted as qr scans next to the same campaign’s online clicks.

Monthly reporting

CSV export on every plan, and a year of history on Growth for quarter-on-quarter comparisons.

Step by step

How to track a marketing campaign with short links

  1. Plan your tags

Decide one naming scheme — for example source = instagram, medium = paid_social, campaign = spring_launch — before creating links, so every report groups cleanly.

  2. Create one link per placement

Open Create link, choose Link with UTM, paste the landing page and fill in source, medium and campaign. Repeat for each channel or ad set instead of reusing one link.

  3. Connect your reporting tools

Under Integrations, connect Google Analytics 4 on Solo, or the Meta Conversions API, TikTok Events API and the other ad platforms on Growth, and press Send test event where offered.

  4. Compare the channels

Open Analytics to compare traffic channels and top sources across the workspace, open each link’s stats page for its countries, devices and timing, and export CSV for your report.

FAQ

Marketing link tracker: questions and answers

Anything else? Talk to us — or read the help center.

What is a marketing link tracker?

A marketing link tracker gives each campaign placement its own short link tagged with source, medium and campaign, and reports clicks per link and channel. Letlink adds traffic-channel grouping, split tests, GA4 delivery from $3.90 a month and server-side click events for six ad platforms from $8.90 a month.

Does Letlink track conversions or sales?

Yes, from Solo at $3.90 a month. Turn on Append click ID so each recorded click’s ID travels to your site, then report the sale, lead or sign-up back with the JavaScript snippet, a server-to-server postback or the API, and Letlink shows conversions, revenue, EPC and ROAS per link and per campaign. On Growth, approved conversions can also be forwarded to the Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Snapchat and Reddit Conversions APIs.

How do I compare marketing channels?

Create a separate Link with UTM for each channel, with a different medium or source on each, then open Analytics. Traffic channels groups clicks into Direct, Search, Social, Email & messaging and Referral sites, Top sources names the hosts, and the link table ranks every campaign link by clicks.

Can I send link clicks to Meta, TikTok or LinkedIn ads?

Yes, on Growth ($8.90 a month) and Ultimate. Each recorded click is delivered server-side as one event — LinkClicked to Meta, ClickButton to TikTok, and a conversion-rule event to LinkedIn — with the ad’s click ID attached when the ad points straight at the short link. Pinterest, Snapchat and Reddit work the same way.

Why don’t my link clicks match the ad platform’s pixel?

They measure different moments. Letlink records the redirect; a pixel fires only once the destination page loads, so clicks that never finish loading appear in Letlink and not in the pixel. Bots are left out of Letlink’s count, and each event carries a stable ID (click-<id>) that platforms such as Meta use to deduplicate.

Do the UTM tags reach Google Analytics?

Yes. A Link with UTM adds its source, medium and campaign to the destination URL when the visitor is redirected, so the Google Analytics tag on your site attributes the session to that campaign. Separately, from Solo, Letlink can send the click itself to GA4 as a link_click event.
