Business cards

QR code business card you can update after printing

Letlink puts a trackable QR code on your printed business card that opens your website, LinkedIn profile, booking page or a contact file you host — and lets you change that destination when your job, title or calendar link changes.

Short answer

A QR code business card carries a code that opens the cardholder’s contact details or profile when scanned. With Letlink the code opens a short link you control, so you can point it at your website, LinkedIn, a booking page or a .vcf contact file on your own site, change it later without reprinting the cards, and see how many people scanned after an event. Letlink does not host a contact page for you. Free includes 3 tracked codes; Solo, at $3.90 a month, adds your own domain inside the code.

Features

Why put a tracked QR code on your card

Cards that survive a job change

New role, new booking link, new portfolio: edit where the link points and the cards already in people’s wallets open the new page.

Scans after an event

The link’s stats page shows the daily trend and peak day, so you can see how many people scanned in the days after a conference or meeting.

Point it at you, wherever you live online

Your website, LinkedIn profile, a booking page, a portfolio or a .vcf contact file you host — any public https:// address works.

Phones to one page, desktops to another

From Solo, a Device-aware link can send phones to your contact file or booking page and everything else to your website.

Your name inside the code

On Solo and above, a link on your own domain makes the code encode go.yourname.com/q/… rather than letl.ink.

Matches the card design

Choose the code and background colours, add a small logo, and download an SVG your printer can scale cleanly.

Use cases

Who uses QR codes on business cards

Consultants and freelancers

Point the card at a booking page this quarter and a portfolio the next, without throwing away a box of cards.

Sales teams at trade shows

Give each salesperson their own link and code, then compare scans per person after the show.

Job seekers and speakers

A code to a CV, portfolio or talk slides on your own site, with a count of how many people actually opened it.

Step by step

How to add a QR code to a business card

  1. Choose the destination

Pick the page the card should open: your website, LinkedIn profile, booking page, or a .vcf contact file uploaded to your own site.

  2. Create the short link

Paste that address into the link builder and save. On Solo or above, choose your custom domain for the link.

  3. Generate the code

Open the link, generate its QR code, set colours to suit the card and download an SVG. Keep the printed code at least about 2 × 2 cm.

  4. Test before the print run

Scan a printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone. If you point at a .vcf file, check what each phone offers to do with it.

FAQ

QR code business card: questions and answers

Anything else? Talk to us — or read the help center.

How do I put a QR code on my business card?

Create a Letlink short link to the page you want people to open — your website, LinkedIn, booking page or a contact file you host — generate a QR code from the link’s page and add the SVG to your card design. Test a printed proof with two phones. The free plan includes 3 tracked codes.

What should a business card QR code link to?

Whatever you most want a new contact to do next: book a call, view your work, connect on LinkedIn or save your details. Because the code opens a short link, you can change the destination later as that answer changes, without reprinting.

Can a tracked QR code save my contact details?

Only through a file you host. Letlink codes open a URL, so upload a .vcf contact file to your own site and point the link at it; how a phone handles it depends on the phone and browser. Letlink does not host contact pages. For a code that saves the contact directly with no tracking, the free generator at /free-qr-code-generator makes static vCard codes.

Can I update my business card QR code after printing?

Yes. Edit the short link’s destination and every printed card opens the new page. Keep the link and the QR code active: archiving the link or deleting the code makes the printed cards stop resolving.

Can I see who scanned my business card?

You see how many scans, when, and from what — country, device and operating system — but not who. Letlink does not identify people. If you need names, the page the code opens has to ask for them.

How big should the QR code on a business card be?

At least about 2 × 2 cm (0.8 × 0.8 in), dark on a light background, with a clear margin around it. A short link keeps the code simple, which helps it scan at small sizes; adding a logo raises error correction automatically.
