One link per placement
Give the Page post, the group share, the comment reply and the ad their own short links pointing at the same page. Each link has its own stats page, so “Facebook” stops being one undivided number.
Letlink gives every link you share on Facebook its own short URL, records each click before forwarding it, and shows which post, group or ad the traffic came from — with clicks sent on to Meta from the Growth plan.
Short answer
A Facebook link tracker is a short link you share in posts, groups, comments or ads that records each click before forwarding the visitor, so you can see what traffic a Facebook placement actually sent. Letlink records every click with its country, device, browser, referrer and UTM campaign, free for 1,000 links and 1,000 tracked clicks a month. From Growth at $8.90 a month, the Meta Conversions API integration also sends each click to your Meta dataset as a server-side LinkClicked event.
Features
Give the Page post, the group share, the comment reply and the ad their own short links pointing at the same page. Each link has its own stats page, so “Facebook” stops being one undivided number.
Clicks that arrive with a Facebook referrer are counted under Social on the Traffic channels card, and Top sources lists the exact Facebook host. Clicks that carry no referrer — from Messenger or some in-app browsers — are counted as Direct.
A Link with UTM stores utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign on the link and shows them next to its clicks. If your site’s own analytics should see them too, put the same tags in the destination URL.
On Growth and Ultimate every recorded click goes to your Meta dataset server-side as a LinkClicked event with a stable event ID. When an ad points straight at a short link, its fbclid is sent as fbc so Meta can match the click to the ad. Purchases reach Meta only when you track conversions and switch on Forward approved conversions.
When you paste a link, Facebook’s crawler fetches it for the preview card. With Block bots on, the default, that crawler is refused, so the post may show without a card. Turn Block bots off on Country access if you want the preview; crawlers are never counted either way.
Point a short link somewhere new — a sold-out product, a moved event page — and every post, comment and ad that already carries it follows, without editing a single post.
The When people click card names the busiest hour and weekday for each link, so you can schedule the next post for when your Facebook audience actually taps through.
Use cases
A short link per post shows which offer, event or announcement sent people to the booking page, and the country breakdown shows whether they were local.
The same resource shared in several groups, each with its own link, shows which group engages and which ignores it.
Ads that point at a short link get a click count measured on your side, plus server-side LinkClicked events in Meta on Growth, alongside whatever your pixel reports.
Links sent in comments and messages get their own short links, so one-to-one conversations are counted separately from broadcast posts.
In the link builder choose Link with UTM, paste your page URL and set utm_source to facebook, utm_medium to social or paid, and a campaign name. Pick a short code that names the post.
Duplicate the link for each post, group, comment or ad you plan, so each placement has its own stats page.
Open Country access from the sidebar. Leave Block bots on to refuse crawlers, or turn it off if you want Facebook to build a preview card for the link.
Share the short link, then open its stats page: Traffic channels, Top sources, devices, countries and the When people click card fill in as clicks arrive.
Open Integrations → Meta Conversions API, paste your pixel ID and Conversions API access token, and press Send test event with a test event code to check delivery.

Share a short link instead of the original URL. With Letlink, paste the URL into the link builder, add UTM tags such as utm_source=facebook, and post the short link; every click is recorded with its referrer, device, browser and country. The free plan covers 1,000 links and 1,000 tracked clicks a month.
A click is counted as Direct when it arrives without a referrer. Messenger, some in-app browsers and native apps open links without saying where they came from, so those clicks cannot be attributed to Facebook from the referrer alone. A separate short link or UTM tags per placement still tell you which post they came from.
Facebook builds the preview card by fetching the link with its crawler. Letlink refuses crawlers by default with Block bots, on every plan, so the card can come back empty. Turn Block bots off on Country access to let previews through; crawlers are still never counted as clicks.
Yes, on Growth ($8.90 a month) and Ultimate. The Meta Conversions API integration sends every recorded click to your Meta dataset server-side as a LinkClicked event, with a stable event ID for deduplication and the fbclid sent as fbc when an ad points straight at the short link. It delivers clicks; purchases, leads and sign-ups follow only when you report them as conversions and switch on Forward approved conversions.
They measure different things. Facebook counts taps inside its own apps, while Letlink counts visits that reached the short link, without bots and crawlers. Clicks abandoned before the redirect never reach Letlink, and unique visitors are a hash of IP and user agent, so treat both as directional rather than identical.
No. Letlink shows what clicked, not who: country, device, browser, referrer, campaign and time for each visit, plus unique visitor counts. It does not identify people or link a click to a Facebook profile.
