Fits the character budget
A single SMS holds 160 standard characters, or 70 when the message uses characters outside that set, such as many emoji. A short link on a short domain leaves the rest for your message.
Text messaging
Letlink turns long URLs into short links that leave room for your message, runs them on a domain your customers recognise, and records every tap from your text campaigns.
Short answer
An SMS link shortener turns a long URL into a short link that fits a text message and records the taps it gets. Letlink does it on a domain you own from Solo at $3.90 a month — sms.yourbrand.com/sale rather than a shared short domain — with each tap logged by time, country, device and campaign. Solo tracks 10,000 taps a month; Growth tracks 100,000 and adds the REST API for creating links from your own systems.
Features
A single SMS holds 160 standard characters, or 70 when the message uses characters outside that set, such as many emoji. A short link on a short domain leaves the rest for your message.
From Solo, links run on your own hostname — point a CNAME at custom.letl.ink and SSL is issued automatically. Recipients see your brand, not a shared short domain that anyone can use.
Create each link as a Link with UTM — source sms, campaign spring-sale — so taps from texts are reported apart from email and social.
Every tap is recorded with time, country, device, operating system and browser, with the busiest hour and weekday for each link.
From Solo, an App Store link sends iPhones to the App Store and Android phones to Google Play from a single short code in the text.
On Growth, create links through the REST API, Zapier or Make, and send them with whichever SMS provider you already use.
Texts cannot be recalled. If the landing page changes, edit the short link’s destination and every message already sent follows.
Use cases
One branded link per campaign, with the tap count by hour so you can see how fast a send converts into visits.
Links to booking pages, tracking pages and receipts that customers recognise as coming from you.
A single link in the text that opens the right store on iPhone and Android.
A separate link per list segment or region to compare which one responds, without one link per recipient.
On Solo or above, create a CNAME for a subdomain such as go.yourbrand.com pointing at custom.letl.ink, then add it under Integrations → Custom Domain. SSL is issued automatically.
Choose Create link, pick Link with UTM, select your domain, paste the destination and set source to sms and campaign to the send’s name. Keep the short code brief.
Paste the short link into your SMS tool, check the character count, and send a test to your own phone.
Open the link’s stats page for taps by hour, country and device. Text-message taps usually carry no referrer, so they appear as Direct — the campaign tag is what attributes them.

An SMS link shortener turns a long URL into a short one that fits a text message, and usually records the taps it gets. Letlink runs those links on your own domain from Solo at $3.90 a month and records each tap with time, country, device and campaign — 10,000 tracked taps a month on Solo.
A link on your own domain tells the recipient who sent it, and it carries only your sending history. Shared short domains are used by many senders, and messaging providers and carriers can treat them with more suspicion; for US A2P 10DLC traffic, Twilio says public shorteners can get a campaign rejected. Letlink includes 1 custom domain on Solo, 3 on Growth.
Your hostname plus a slash and the short code. A domain like go.brand.co with a six-character code is about 20 characters, against 160 in a standard SMS. Short codes in Letlink can be up to 20 characters, or left blank for a random one.
For small sends, yes: on Growth the REST API, Zapier or Make can create a link per message. Every link counts toward your plan’s link total, so for large lists one link per campaign or segment with UTM tags is the practical choice.
No. Letlink reports what tapped, not who: time, country, device, browser and campaign, plus unique visitors counted by device. Use a separate link per segment if you need to compare groups.
No. Letlink creates and tracks the links; your SMS provider sends the messages. On Growth you can connect the two through the REST API, Zapier or Make.
