Converters become contacts
Each approved conversion with a valid email creates or updates a contact through PUT /v3/marketing/contacts. Existing contacts are updated and added to the list; nothing is ever removed.
SendGrid
Letlink records clicks on the short links in your SendGrid emails, and when one of those clicks turns into a sale, lead or sign-up with an email address, adds that person to your SendGrid Marketing Campaigns contacts and list.
Short answer
The Letlink SendGrid integration adds the person behind each approved conversion to your SendGrid Marketing Campaigns contacts and, if you choose, to a list. It works on conversions only — a click carries no email address — so the conversion must be reported with an email through the JavaScript snippet, a postback or the API. Clicks on short links in your SendGrid emails are recorded as usual. The integration is on Growth at $8.90 a month and Ultimate at $39.90; conversion tracking starts on Solo at $3.90.
Features
Each approved conversion with a valid email creates or updates a contact through PUT /v3/marketing/contacts. Existing contacts are updated and added to the list; nothing is ever removed.
Give the list ID and every new converter lands in it, ready for a follow-up send to the people your links actually brought in.
When Letlink knows the visitor’s country from the click, it is sent with the contact.
Put a short link in a SendGrid email and each click is recorded with time, country, device and referrer. Opens are not tracked: Letlink sees the click, not the email being read.
Report email alongside the sale, lead or sign-up — in the letlink() snippet call, the postback or POST /api/v1/conversions. Conversions without an email are skipped.
Adding someone to a list is not consent to market to them. Make sure the conversion flow collected that consent before you email them.
Use cases
Everyone who signs up through a campaign link joins a SendGrid list that starts your welcome series.
Buyers reported by your shop’s thank-you page snippet are added to a list for review requests and reorders.
Leads from a webinar or download link land in one list, separate from your general newsletter audience.
In SendGrid open Settings → API Keys → Create API Key and give it at least Marketing access. It starts with SG.
Optionally open Marketing → Contacts, open the list and copy the ID from the end of the URL.
On Growth or Ultimate, open Integrations → SendGrid (owners and admins), paste the key and list ID, and save.
Include email when you call letlink('signup', …) or send a postback. The next approved conversion appears under Marketing → Contacts within a few minutes.

It adds the person behind each approved conversion — a sale, lead or sign-up reported with an email address — to your SendGrid Marketing Campaigns contacts and, optionally, to a list. It does not send clicks, because a click has no email address. It is on Growth at $8.90 a month and Ultimate at $39.90.
Yes. Use a Letlink short link in the email and each click is recorded with time, country, device and referrer, on every plan including Free with 1,000 tracked clicks a month. Letlink does not track email opens; it only sees clicks on links.
From you, when you report the conversion: the email field of the letlink() snippet call, the postback URL or POST /api/v1/conversions. Letlink never learns an email from a click. Conversions without a valid email are skipped by this integration.
SendGrid accepts the request and imports contacts in the background, so allow a few minutes. Check that the conversion carried a valid email and was approved, not pending. A 403 means the API key lacks Marketing permission, and addresses on your global suppression list are not added — SendGrid does not report that back.
Adding someone to a contact list is not consent to send them marketing email. Make sure the flow that produced the conversion collected that consent before you email them.
